There's one of every character in the book: the good guy, the bad guy, the local sheriff, the lovely damsel, her father the old professor, etc. The scene where we're looking for the first time through the window of the ship and the visitor peeks out from the other side is easily as good as the three-fingered-hand-on-the-shoulder in War of the Worlds. 从布景来看是一部典型的低预算Sci-Fi，据说预算大概$43000花了6天时间就拍完了，除了名导Edgar Ulmer，其他人都不认识，其实成片效果还行，如果能靠创意取胜那还过得去，关键是电影在这个题材上的发挥极其有限，想象力贫乏，X星人的雷人造型可以忽略，但是人物和台词设计就真的很失败了，那个Mears博士，我姑且接受了他很邪恶的设定吧，男主说他坐过牢，也不知道为啥坐牢，然后另一个槽点就是几个人...
